Alex's Ninth Birthday

Saturday was a busy day, first Pinkalicious, then a basketball game and then a party! Alex wanted a MU football theme this year. No problem. All he wanted was a football cake, half chocolate, half yellow, half black icing and the other half gold. Mizzou on top of the football and Tigers on the bottom. A little picky but a piece of cake (no pun intended) right? Wrong. I bought the football mold and got half of the yellow batter in and half of the chocolate without mixing. Not easy. Placed the pan in the oven, set the timer and walked away. Came back in about 20 minutes only to find that the mold doesn't stay upright and the cake was running down the door of my oven. Nice. So, no cake made by mom this year. I had to order one from Hy-Vee. I felt really bad about it, but I think it would have been worse to not have had a cake at all.
I think it turned out really well and it was really good. I still would have liked to have made it myself. Yes I know the picture is sideways. Too much trouble to change it. Sorry.
So, since I haven't done a post on Sam's arrival on my blog yet, I thought I would post these. He is so cute. He loves this monster or dinosaur thing that Michelle got him. They put him in it all of the time. Went over to their house today and he was in it. They say he loves it and it calms him down. Good job Michelle!
Precious.

Who in the world looks this good after just having a baby? Seriously? Apparently, my sister. Alex had a really good birthday. He raked in the dough and had to spend it the very next day. He did well though. Kelly got him a snowboard game for the Wii and Alex was going to buy the balance board for it. Come to find out that the balance board is the Wii Fit and comes with the Wii Fit disc. Score!! The whole town of Columbia is out of them but they took our name and number. Then we asked how much they were. $99.99. Alex informed me that he was not going to spend that much money on one. I wanted the Wii Fit anyway, I could buy it. He got a steering wheel and a game and movie and saved the rest. Good decision. He also had 3 of his best friends spend the night. They were good. It wasn't as bad as the last time we had a sleep over. They were well behaved. Thank God! Just noticed Martin mocking Kalynn in the background. Dork.
